YANKEE STADIUM TO HOST 2022 CORTACA JUG GAME BETWEEN ITHACA COLLEGE AND SUNY CORTLAND
——
TICKETS TO GO ON SALE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 16 AT NOON

Yankee Stadium will host the 2022 Cortaca Jug college football matchup between Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland with tickets going on sale to the general public on Tuesday, November 16, at 12:00 p.m., at ticketmaster.com or cortacajug.com.

The 63rd edition of the game is scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2022, with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff time at Yankee Stadium. It will mark the first appearance for either team at either the current or original Yankee Stadium and the first time the home of the Yankees will host an all-New York State college football game since Syracuse defeated Army, 27-15, on November 7, 1964. Ithaca will be the home team for the 2022 contest.

Prices in the general seating bowl will range from $24.50 to $69.50. Fans may purchase up to 19 individual seats, and fans can choose to sit on the Ithaca College Bombers side of the stadium (first base / right field) or on the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons side (third base / left field). All tickets will be delivered digitally, and mobile presentation will be the sole method of entry.

The rivalry originated in 1959, when friends and respective team captains Tom Decker of Cortland and Dick Carmean of Ithaca picked up a jug at a yard sale to serve as the prize for the winner of the annual game between the schools.

Once referred to by Sports Illustrated as "the biggest little game in the nation," the Cortaca Jug was played in 2019 before a Division III-record crowd of 45,161 fans at MetLife Stadium, with Ithaca prevailing, 32-20. The Cortaca Jug was not contested in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and the 2021 game is scheduled to be played this Saturday at SUNY Cortland. Ithaca currently leads the Cortaca Jug series, 37–24.
